Ansty and Staplefield Parish council is responsible for an area of West Sussex that runs from the north west side of Burgess Hill towards Handcross. It includes the settlements of Ansty in the south, Staplefield to the north-west and Brook Street to the north-east, as well as the new developments at Sandrocks, Rocky Lane. It is the largest civil parish in West Sussex, covering an area of 3,869 hectares (14.94 sq mi), and has a population of 1756 (2011 Census).
Parish Council Vacancy - Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer
Part-time – 21 hours per week.
Home based – with a generous allowance.
Salary scale - £18-£20 per hour depending on experience.
Ansty and Staplefield Parish Council is a dynamic and friendly Council seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Clerk to replace our retiring Clerk of 22 years.
The ideal candidate will be CILCA qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. As the sole employee, the Clerk oversees the management of all aspects of the Parish Council including financial and asset management. Candidates should possess excellent IT and communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with senior staff at both District and County level.
The working pattern can be negotiated to suit the post-holder but will include some evening meetings.
